Hai, @Bharath Vadlapudi while checking lateral deflection we need to choose service load combination ? (total 18) what to do if fails under lateral deflection?
FOR DRAWING GRID LINES IN AUTOCAD WHICH IS PREFARABLE EITHER CENTER TO CENTRE OF COLUMN OR CENTRE TO CENTRE OF BEAM?
First of all sir/mam Great work done. In Assessment 7.4.2 For building ht 12m (Less than 15m) and seismic zone-2, I think static analysis is done but the answer is Dynamic analysis. Can you please clarify this
what is the ideal time to complete this course?
Hai, @Bharath Vadlapudi while check model for 1mm tolerence there are no errors but when i check model for 100 mm tolerence i am getting errors how can i debug them
Its very well defined course of not only Etabs training purpose, but very helpfull for all designers.very well explained.please make Course of Foundation design of buildings sir.
Completed this course. Very well defined and easy to understand. Better than other courses available on Youtube.
Unable to check the lateral Drift value. I did exactly as told in the lecture on Lateral drift. But the Table showing blank. why?
Terrece, F41 & B40 are too close.[-10]. Check at (20295 15550 23500). showing this type of some error while running analyze and checking for 100 mm tolerance. what it mean ?? How to understand these ERROR msg. is there any option?
its good for student who wants to know about etabs nice classes and got a lots of knowledge
In E tab is there no need to assign earthquake load and wind load individually in each beam and slab like Dead load and Live Load ??
@Vijay Kumar Take the slab modeling type as membrane, Analyse the model, Then Goto > Display > Load Assigns > Frames > & Choose whatever load case u want.
@Mohammad Armaan Kindly complete the assignment on the calculation of the coefficients you will get clarity
@Jaspreet Singh For earthquake load cases yes, it is necessary to apply a diaphragm while u go with the slab modeling type as a membrane.

@sougata sasmal select the columns/beams/slabs/walls you want to delete and hit delete button in your keypad. Its Ease ..!!
@hindurao salgar Orientation of the column is dependent on multiple factors like Lateral Deflection, Lateral Drift, Span along major axis/minor axis, Loading on the slab & etc.
Sir, i want to check deflection etabs manually by using formula 5*wl^4/384 EI, here UDL load how to taken from etabs that particular beam
Sir, Please help me in calculating windward and leeward coefficient value in assigning wind load
Is it necessary to apply diaphragm while applying only earthquake load ?
How to delete the selected column, beam or slab??
How to decide orientation of column?
Sir my course was completed can i get certificate
thank you for this course sir, i was very happy to be a part of this course and also i learnt a lot from it. thank you for the opportunity
How to prepare structure design drawing? Ex 1) reinforcement details of beam, column, and slab Please suggest me sir
Sir, Thanks for giving opportunity to learn this Software at very short span and in a very effective manner which has helped in boosting my confidence.
@Hindurao Salgar Grade of concrete decision is based on the scale of the building. If it is a small building, it is recommended to start with M20. & If the building is taller than 50m the minimum grade of concrete is M30
@Jay M Patel Sure, We will mail you
@Soguata S Sasmal The minimum depth of the beam shall not be less than L/d Ratios as given under clause 23.2.1 of IS 456 2000
@Jay M Patel That beam used as a reference line to draw the mid-landing slab of the staircase. So, it was deleted after drawing the staircase
@Ankit Pahune You can edit your grids by going to >Edit>Edit Story & Grid System Data > Modify/show Grid data
how to decided grade of concrete to design column and beam?
how calculate Cpe for wind ward and lee ward can u please provide manual calculation for same
What would be the minimum depth of beam,as per code??
Respected sir i cant get why beam is plot in staircase @ distance 1330 from mid beam
sir i was do mistake on grid how can i edit grid distances ?
How to input grids dimensions from right to left or left to right...... ??
Since we apply load usin replace load why we not use add existing load options
@Anjali Kashyap pls call me i will clarify your doubt.
@Kamala M the given correct answer is Linear Static Analysis.
In assessment of Application of Earthquake Loads for 6th question, the given correct answer is linear dynamic analysis but as per your lecture the correct answer must be linear static analysis. can you please explain if i am wrong
Sir, Can you please explain the modelling and design of cantilever slabs for balconies?
In story data, for creating a new model, what is splice story and splice height? please explain.
When did start actual modelling in etabs for a multy storied building.
Sir I need to know the following. 1. Sloped roof design 2. In our area they use brick masonry. And most of all structures slab rest directly on wall and sometimes it rest in beam.I need to know how to design these as I will have to do such designs mainly.
Bharath Sir, can you please give some information regarding advanced ETABS course? When it is going to start? Syllabus? As well as fees?
@Shariq yes 12.0 Test is the last module in the course.
@Tehsin Raza Sunken Slab is just a normal slab with its edge condition as "4 Edge Discontinuous"
@Rajesh R V Select all the frames goto Assign > Frames > Local Axis & set the local axis of the frames to zero.
@Vijay Kumar Please contact +91-9912711475 for the clarification of multiple doubts at a time.
sir, i posted some queries but not reflected here. how to contact you
Sir, I accidenly clicked EDIR>EDIT FRAMES>REVERSE FRAME CONNECTIVITY. Now its showing two arrows in each and every joints green arrow along y axis and blue arrow along x axis . sir please help me to rectify that mistake and help me bring back them to nornal state.
Sir, Modelling In Beams Section : Column Size taken 300X600 and Beams 230X600. 50mm offset is remaining. My doubt was If the beams are Modelling in etabs at center but Practically Not Possible at site construct beams OR Modelling Beams with 50 mm Projections Eccentrc loading applied to the Columns. Please Explain If iam Wrong
Sir, i heard that Generally Staircase designed in manually and not modelled in etabs. Considering slab type with Membrane without modelling Stair case.
Sir, In your video Design of column in elevation-3 one of the corner column shows the area of reinforcement increased above floor compared to the below floor. Generally Area reinforcement decreased for upper storey columns
Sir, moment not released for secondary beams
Sir please send structural drawing of this project And how we design sunken slab
Bharath sir, is 12.0 Test the last module or we are going to have more modules?
@Rajesh R V: That is just for a better understanding purpose we have imposed in the lecture (Video Edits). However, u can check the Dxf import lecture for similar features in ETABS.
@Shariq: Sure, will update in a short time.
@ Sandeep Madasu: Please check your mail. I have sent you an assignment.
sir will you please show how to impose architectural drawing in etabs which u did in modelling of columns lecture
I completed this project, send me another project so that i can practice
Dear Bharath Sir, can you please explain or make a video showing differences between rigid and semi-rigid diaphragm. Will help us a lot. Thank you.
@Chandra Vamsi Delete F127& F105 in your model and re-draw them connecting all the joints which could resolve all your errors. We can neglect the sign of windward and leeward coefficients while applying wind loads in ETABS. When we go for the Rigid Diaphragm, ETABS will distribute the lateral loads from the point center of mass to all the vertical elements in the building whereas Semi-Rigid diaphragm distributes the lateral load (wind) all over the surface of the structure in the respective direction. To understand this Once check the lateral load distribution with the diaphragm as semi-rigid by displaying the joint loads in EQ/WL cases then unlock the model, Change the diaphragm to rigid, then run the analysis and check the joint loads in EQ/WL cases.
after checking model for errors I got 28 warnings. all errors showed ( F127 & F105 are too close, check at 9070 1015 23500) at respective floors. how to resolve this?
after calculating wind ward coefficients I got 0.7, for lee ward coefficients I got -0.25. U have considered 0.75 and 0.25. can u plz share calculation part or tell me whether we have to neglect sign while applying in etabs or not?
why did u consider semi-rigid diaphragm? why not rigid diaphragm?
If the deflection is more than L/500, then you are required to increase the stiffness (i.e. increasing the sizes of beams & columns or induce a shearwall in the building) in the respective direction.
What is to be done if the lateral deflection is more than L/500 in any direction
We have not yet arrived at that topic in the course. Kindly wait for the separate lecture on the load cases & combinations.
Please clarify the load combinations part and how to assign load combinations
